Curated by the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Italy
The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Rome presents IN DIVENIRE, a compelling exhibition of video art by the Dominican artist Victoria Thomen.
‘The future is not an end, but a continuous beginning’ — Octavio Paz
How do we adapt to a world in which what we believe to be solid is already changing? IN DIVENIRE is an intense and evocative visual journey that explores the fine line between permanence and transformation, memory and the future. Through the hypnotic language of the moving image, the exhibition invites us to linger in that fertile territory where certainties crumble and new possibilities take shape.
The artistic journey unfolds through five extraordinary works — Globus Viridis, Forare Ferida, Oceanic Echoes, Habere e Sapere and Mons Movens — which address the major themes of our present: the fissures in the urban and natural landscape, the challenges of contemporary migration, the traps of consumerism and the dissolution of matter itself.
Drawing inspiration from the philosophical reflections of Arendt, Bloch and Deleuze, the exhibition does not offer definitive answers, but provides an immersive and profound experience. An open invitation to anyone wishing to question their own perspective and discover the latent beauty in change.
A unique opportunity to experience art as a space for reflection, resistance and regeneration.
