The Urban Center is the place where Rome and its metropolitan area are presented and interpreted. Its primary mission is to inform and engage citizens in urban and territorial planning and in public policies, accompanying the major urban transformation projects of the city and its surrounding metropolitan area. The Urban Center carries out activities of study, research, proposal and suggestions supporting innovation and providing expertise to public and private institutions involved in urban and territorial transformation processes, also through collaboration and dialogue with international organisations and stakeholders.
It promotes urban culture and public outreach at city, national and international levels, and tells the story of past, present and future urban transformations. Rome and its metropolitan area are placed at the centre of a narrative that is accessible in both form and content, thanks to a continuous effort to “translate” technical language into a type of language and visualisations that are understandable to everyone.
